Kid's Closet Consignment sale

This week the Kid's Closet Consignment Sale will be in Topeka at the Sunrise Optimist Club at 720 NW 50th Street (across the street from Seaman High School).  It opens to the public on Thursday 9/9 at  10am and runs until 8pm.  It's open all day Friday as well.  On Saturday the 11th most items will be half price and they will be open from 9-3.

I have been a consignor and a shopper at this sale since they have been in Topeka.  I've been to a few other consignment sales as well and this is my favorite!  They are picky enough about what they accept, so I know I'll find quality items.

Here are a few tips if you are going to shop.
  • Take an inventory of what you need for your children before you go.  I will be going through their fall items today and making a list of what we still need...jeans, shirts, shoes, etc.
  • If you are shopping for shoes, make an outline of your child's foot on a piece of cardboard.  Cut it out and take it with you to slide in to shoes to see if they fit.
  • If possible, leave the kids at home.  I've tried taking mine before and it's just too much.
  • Ask if you can take a bag or basket in with you to carry around to put the things you are thinking of purchasing in.  At the end of my shopping I like to go through everything one more time to make sure I have what I need and I take back to the racks anything I don't need.
  • Take cash.  This helps if you are trying to stick to a budget.  They do take credit/debit cards, but it's easy to get carried away.
  • And if you have some time between now and Wednesday raid your kid's closets for their fall and winter clothes.  Find some things you'd like to sell and earn 70% of your sale price!  Tammy pays fast...usuallly get a check in the mail within 2 weeks of the sale.  Mention See Me Save if you do decide to consign!  :)
You can read all about Kid's Closet HERE.  I will make sure to give you a heads up sooner in the spring.  They do a sale twice a year.
