Sharing your stockpile

If you've been following See Me Save for a while now, you probably know I have a serious stockpile.  And the "specialty" for my stockpile....toiletry items!  My family now jokes that they need to go to the basement to shop at my convenience store.  You wouldn't believe the amount of deodorant, razors, body wash, toothpaste, etc. that I have that I paid next to nothing for.  I just use my coupons with the sales and I pay no more than 50 cents for any of this...most of it was free or I'm being paid to take it off the store's shelves.  :)

I am telling you this because if you've been buying like I have throughout the year (following my store matchups), you may have an overflowing stockpile too!  And at this time of year many organizations, schools, churches have adopted families for Christmas.  What a great way to reduce your stockpile (and make room for more in the new year) AND more importantly, help out a family in need!

Now, most families aren't going to ask for toothpaste and soap, but it's something we all need!  I like to pick up items from their wish list and add to that items from my stockpile.  So the 2 families my church group adopted are going to get enough deodorant, toothpaste, razors, body wash, dish soap and the like to last them for hopefully at least the next 6 months!  I'll also be purchasing a few items for the families as well to go in with the other gifts our group has donated.

Is anyone else donating from their stockpile this holiday season?  If you don't know anyone that has adopted a family, I'm sure the Rescue Mission or local shelter would love to have your stockpile donations!

Michelle
