This is so much information to start with, but after a while it gets easier. Our grocery bill was more than what we were spending on our mortgage every month!!! I’ve cut it more than half since doing this. Most of the stuff I buy is name brand and in my grocery bill I’m including personal care stuff (shampoo, soap, deodorant, diapers), paper products (TP and paper towels), cleaning products, so to cut all of that by more than half is really unbelievable to me. I’m happy with it being under $100 a week. Our grocery bills were crazy before…never really paid much attention to what we were spending, but I started thinking a while back what kind of money we were throwing away by not doing this.
Another thing I’ve been doing since starting couponing is stockpiling. For example, a few weeks ago they had fruit snacks and granola bars on sale at Dillon’s (my kids love those). With coupons and the loadable coupons and the sale price I was able to get these for less than 30 cents a BOX! And I got 10 boxes of each! Or lately I’ve been getting free deodorant, toothpaste, the other day it was Ronzoni spaghetti noodles for FREE…just by using coupons. I could go on and on.
I “load” coupons on to my Dillon’s shoppers card from cellfire.com and shortcuts.com. Once you scan your shoppers card there it automatically uses your coupons.
